How to fill in a hand

  1. Write the bidder and the bid.
  2. For each side, write its meld and its trick points: Aces, Tens and Kings are worth 1 each, plus the last trick.
  3. The bidding side: if meld plus tricks reached the bid, write that total. If not, write minus the bid.
  4. The other side: write its meld plus tricks, as long as it took at least one trick point. In double deck it needs 20 trick points, and its meld only counts if it’s 20 or more.
  5. Add the hand to the running score. The rules cover every case, including a bid that is out of reach.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you keep score in pinochle?

After each hand, write down the bid and who made it, then each side's meld and trick points. If the bidding side's meld plus tricks reached its bid, add them to its score. If not, subtract the bid. The other side adds its meld and tricks, as long as it took at least one trick point (in double deck, at least 20).

Is there a pinochle score sheet for three players?

Yes. The three-handed sheet has a column group for each player, because in cutthroat pinochle every player scores for themselves.

Can I keep pinochle score on my phone instead?

Yes. The PinochleRun score keeper works in your browser, applies the scoring rules for you, and remembers the game if your phone goes to sleep.
